Nobody likes to read rules and policies but this information IS important so you know what to expect from us and what we expect from you before you decide to book a yard greeting! 

Sign Gypsies is a RENTAL SERVICE –  YOU DO NOT OWN THE PRODUCT!

Payment and Delivery

 

Signs will be set up either between 6-11 PM the day before the event or 5-8 AM the day of the event. Delivery schedule will be determined the day prior to the event as to delivery locations/ what is the logical route!   It may be necessary to keep the celebrant in the back room while we are setting up. Please let us know if you need a text shortly before arrival.

We will be picking up the signs after dark the day of the event or the next morning.  If the celebrant is older and having a drive by birthday party that night, that’s fine, but please let us know so we do not remove it too early.

IF we are unable to continue to SPREAD JOY, we will issue a full refund. 

Normal Policies

 

  • Payment is required prior to delivery.  Invoices not paid before setup will be cancelled. Rush orders of less than 24 hours require a $25 rush fee. 
  • Due to the unique nature of each setup and number of greetings booked each day, we cannot guarantee a specific delivery/pick up time. 
  • All greetings are to be installed on the front lawn.  If another location is requested, we can work with you.  There may be an additional charge. If the greeting is a surprise for another household, it is IMPERATIVE you let them know it is a rental.  You will be responsible if the recipient damages or throws away the signs. Gardner’s can damage the signs with the weed eaters. You will be responsible for damage due to gardening service.  Normal watering of residential yards does NOT damage our signs. Commercial/ industrial sprinklers will damage our signs. SCHOOLS need to be cautious of this.
  • There is no need for you to be home during delivery or removal. We will install your greeting quickly and quietly in the best location for aesthetic and installation purposes. If a specific location in your yard is desired, please let us know when booking. We will do our best to install if the ground is watered and our stakes can easily be put into the ground.  
  • If your greeting is a surprise for an address other than your own, we ask that you please notify someone in that household that we will be on the property during the scheduled window for setup and removal. We will leave a note on the doorknob for the recipient with the sender’s name to let them know who the yard greeting is from if you wish.  Please let us know the sentiment/ or if you prefer it a surprise let us know.
  • If the rental is a surprise evening setup for another member of your household, please close blinds/drapes during the delivery time window and leave an outside light on for us so we can identify the address easily.
  • PLEASE WATER YOUR YARD in the days leading up to your delivery if it has not rained in several days. Dry soil is extremely hard to put the signs in. Refunds are not given if we are not able to get the stakes in the ground due to not watering.
  • We CANNOT put signs in pea gravel, concrete, mulch, flower beds, thick landscaping, hard packed soil that has been used as a driveway, for example. We install signs on lawns. We define lawns as unobstructed soil with grass on the top.  If your situation is different, prior approval is necessary.
  • Please DO NOT remove our signs from your lawn for ANY reason. If they need to be taken down before your scheduled removal time, please call/text me at 408-785-8755 and I will take care of it ASAP. IF signs are moved from their original spot, you will be charged a $50 fee and you will be charged for replacement of any damaged signs. 

 

Personal Injury & Damages

 

  • We encourage you to pose next to the display for photographs, but for the safety of everyone, please DO NOT touch, lean on or play near the display. Our signs/stakes will not support any weight or pressure. We will not be held liable for injuries or damages that occur.
  • Please DO NOT attach anything (balloons, string, decorations, etc.) to any part of the display. These could damage our signs and you would be responsible for replacement of damaged signs.
  • Please DO NOT mow, edge around or take down the yard sign display for lawn maintenance purposes. If you request a sign for the day of your normal lawn care, please suspend services for that day.  
  • If you have any outdoor pets, please keep them in/away for the duration of the time the signs are displayed in your yard.  We will not install signs if the lawn does not have a clean/clear space to install. IE: lawn furniture, dog poop, cars, etc.
  • Once we have began our installation, we will not move it to a different space.  If you have a specific location, please let us know in advance with a photo marked with the location. 
  • All signs are property of Sign Gypsies San Jose, you will be held responsible for all damages/replacement charges if rules and policies are not followed.
  • Sign Gypsies and all representatives are not responsible or liable for any injury or damage that may be caused to any person or personal property during the setup or removal of our signs

Photos & Advertising Release

 

  • We will photograph your yard greeting rental for use on our business website, Instagram and Facebook pages and publicly congratulate the recipient unless you otherwise inform us not to do so.
  • We will place a small sign in your yard with our contact information. It will be placed away from the greeting so as not to distract from the display. 

Cancellations & Refunds

 

  • We respectfully reserve the right to cancel an order if we feel the delivery area may be unsafe for our employees or our signs. We will contact you if this situation arises to decide on an alternative agreement/solution. If no agreement is made, a full refund will be issued.
  • We will not be able to set up or take down a display under severe hazardous weather conditions. We will do our best to make alternative scheduling arrangements, but if we are unable to set up a greeting because of severe weather (including wind gust up to 25 mph), you will receive a full refund.
  • If you must cancel your yard greeting, you must do so AT LEAST 48 hours BEFORE your scheduled delivery in order to receive a full refund.
  • Rescheduling a greeting for any reason is subject to availability. 

Hold Harmless Agreement 

 

Customer agrees to protect, defend, indemnify Sign Gypsies, LLC and hold its officers, employees and agents free and harmless from and against any and all losses, penalties, damages, settlements, costs, charges, professional fees, or other expenses or liabilities of every kind and character arising out of or relating to any and all claims, liens, demands, obligations, actions, proceedings or cause of action of every kind and character in connection with or arising directly or indirectly out of the Sign Gypsies, LLC service agreement and/or the performance thereof. Customer further agrees to investigate, handle, respond to, provide defense for any such claims, etc. at his sole expense and agrees to bear all other costs and expenses related thereto, even if it (claims, etc.) is groundless, false or fraudulent. The agreement is in effect for the duration of the service process as defined by the effective dates of the service agreement. 

By booking and paying for your greeting, you agree to follow the rules and policies as set above.
